TEC Community Development Corporation

The Enterprise Center Community Development Corporation is the community development arm of The Enterprise Center family of nonprofits. Through our community initiatives we engage with residents in West Philadelphia and support community-driven neighborhood revitalization. Our past and present projects and initiatives include:

Resident Engagement and Services:

  • Working with the Walnut Hill Community Association and residents of the Walnut Hill neighborhood in the planning and implementation of two neighborhood plans, the first completed in 2007 and an updated version completed in 2016.
  • Connecting residents in the West Philadelphia neighborhoods of Walnut Hill, Spruce Hill, Garden Court, Cedar Park, and parts of Cobbs Creek to resources and services through the Neighborhood Advisory Committee (NAC) program.
  • Providing residents with access to locally grown produce and health-focused workshops and events through our West Philly Foods programming, community gardens, and farm stands.

Neighborhood Revitalization:

  • Collaborating with businesses, residents, property owners, and other key stakeholders in the ongoing revitalization of the 52nd Street commercial corridor.
  • Redeveloping an abandoned grocery store at 48th and Spruce streets into the Dorrance H. Hamilton Center for Culinary Enterprises (CCE), a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen facility and retail hub for local food businesses.
  • Working with neighborhood residents to beautify neighborhood green and public spaces, including the Walnut Hill Community Farm and Walnut Hill Community Playground.
