Project Great Potential

Register for PGP Cycle 7 running from September 17, 2008 to November 8, 2008.

PGP is an eight-week program that helps young adult men between 18 and 25 to realize their potential and develop personal and professional skills. The goal of PGP is to cultivate the entrepreneurial spirit and provide the professional tools necessary to help our participants succeed in life.

PGP Class

PGP targets aspiring young entrepreneurs from urban Philadelphia who have graduated high school or received a GED but are not attending college. The program equips these young men with the relationships and resources necessary to succeed in the business world.

PGP offers rigorous classes, individualized coaching, and a professional and nurturing environment. PGP students have regular access to TEC's state-of-the-art Magic Johnson/HP Inventor Center and are invited to use the Online Business Knowledge Center, an internet-based business curriculum resource.

By the end of the program, participants gain marketable skills in the following areas: reading, writing, and verbal communication; professionalism; accounting; financing; and marketing. Participants achieve one or more of three successful outcomes: enrollment in an institute of higher learning or additional industry training, a business plan, and/or a job with a living wage along with a written career portfolio. All PGP participants who have completed business plans will be able to submit their ideas to the TEC's annual Minority Business Plan Competition.
